Greetings again everyone:

The week has flown by like a rocket!  Last Sabbath my wife and I were in
Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona for Services.  We had a wonderful day, except
for one small glitch--I left my note case in Tucson, so I did not have my
sermon notes in Phoenix.  Smart? Not.  At least I had my Bible.

Dr. Winnail is recuperating from his broken leg.  We didn't have a kicking
contest--I chickened out because he had his wife with him and I did not.
That gave him three feet to my two, and so I decided to let him off.... Ha!
Is he lucky, or what?

On the serious side, there is surely much sickness abroad.  The list of
brethren and family members with serious illnesses seems endless.  Please,
everyone, exercise prudence and care.

I just learned this week that Mr. Harold Richards died suddenly this week.
Mr. Richards was an Elder in Louisiana, currently with Global Church of
God.  We sympathize with his family in this time of their loss.

Mr. Charles Bryce has sent a very encouraging report on the Canadian Work,
and my son Rod reports continued growth in the Philippines.  Here is a
quote from Rod's March 25, 1999 letter to the Philippine brethren which is
very encouraging:
"I am happy to pass on some good news.   Mr. Encardio Benitez, one
of the senior and pioneer ministers of the Church of God in the
Philippines, has expressed a desire to join the fellowship and Work of the
Living Church of God.  A number of brethren with him, in San Fernando and
Don Carlos (both in Bukidnon) have also expressed their desire to join us.
This past Sabbath Mr. Tex Benitez (pastor of our congregations in north and
west Mindanao) visited San Fernando, speaking to them and answering
questions about the Living Church of God. Possibly up to a hundred
separated brethren may be joining us in North-West Mindanao.  Welcome to
Mr. Encardio Benitez and our re-united brethren!"  And I wish a great big
WELCOME TO ENCARDIO AND OUR BRETHREN IN THE PHILIPPINES FROM ALL OF US
AROUND THE WORLD!

And speaking of welcome, Bonnie Miller just gave me an e-mail message of
greeting from Yugoslavia. I hope Sasha will forgive me if my quoting part
of her memo is out of line--I will not knowingly include sensitive
statements.   She sent greetings to certain ones she knows, then she wrote,
"Say hello to Dr. Meredith for me.  All the best to all of you.  I am truly
happy that you didn't lapse into Laodicean attitude and are keen about the
Work of God.  May God bless such an attitude."   Thank you Sasha, from Dr.
Meredith and all of us in the US.  Our prayers are with you during this
time of trouble in your country.

In spite of Satan's efforts to bring tribulation upon God's Children, we
are encouraged by the reports of baptisms from around the world.  Also, the
responses are good to the Tomorrow's World telecast (about 1,250 in the US
and Canada last week, 75 to the broadcast in Australia on two stations!)

Also, Mr. Tyler included in his April 9th News Update two letters from
brethren in New Guinea which were heart-warming--but I will have to save
for later as I have run out of time!

P.S. The  date for the second Passover this year (for those who could not
attend for reasons beyond their control) is Thursday evening, April 29.  If
you have questions please call your Area Pastor.
