Law vs. Lawlessness #7Matt 24:11 "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12 "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
13 "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Christ Does not "water down" the law.
Adulterating the LAW of God---
"call it "watering down".Rather than stressing OBEDIENCE to Gods Law, False Preachers are now
WATERING DOWN the Law of God, and claims to be stressing "Christ." But this is
not the Christ of the Bible, who observed the Sabbath faithfully (
Luke 4:16) Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been
brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and
stood up to read.
setting us an example, that we should follow His steps!
I Pet.2:21 1 Pet 2:21 For to this you were called, because
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
1 Pet 2:22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth";
I John 2:6 1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in
Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
1 John 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you
have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the
beginning.
This is not the same Jesus who said to the young rich man who asked Him how he could have
eternal life! Jesus said to him, "IF thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE
COMMANDMENTS"
Matt.19:17 Mat 19:17 So He said to him, "Why
do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into
life, keep the commandments."
Christ is the Law of Godthe Logos, the Word, the Torahmade into human flesh
(John 1;1-3, 14). As such, He observed Gods Law perfectlyas it was intended to
be observed. In the worldly changes, interpretations and additions to the Law, It showed
us its true purpose, how to keep it properly, in Spirit, and its real meaning. It is
nothing less than the perfect character of God, showing us how God desires each one of us
to become!
This worlds teachers state Christ is the Law and Christ died. So therefore the Law died. So I guess we can kill, steal, and commit adultry with all impunity? No the law did not die. Christ died for our sins for breaking the law. But that does not do away with the law. Grace (unmerited pardon) requires something to be pardoned for, and that is sin. Sin is the transgression of the law. So the law must remain in force in order to have grace.
What about you? Are you going to be led about by modern-day false prophets who are
"partial in the law" ...
Mal. 2:9? Mal 2:9 "Therefore I also have made you
contemptible and base Before all the people, Because you have not kept My ways But have
shown partiality in the law."
Are you going to go along with those who are "forsaking"
Gods Law ...
Psalm 119:53? Psa 119:2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart!
Psa 119:3 They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways.
Are you going to follow those false prophets who are busily making "void" the
Law (Psalm 119:126)? Psa 119:125 I am Your servant; Give me
understanding, That I may know Your testimonies.
Psa 119:126 It is time for You to act, O LORD, For they have regarded Your law as void.
Psa 119:127 Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold!
Psa 119:128 Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I
hate every false way.
David said, "Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea,
above fine gold" (v.127). He declared, "Thy law is the truth"
Psa.119:142. Psa 119:142 Your righteousness is an everlasting
righteousness, And Your law is truth.
But Jesus also said HE is the "truth" (John 14:6). He also said,
"Thy WORD is truth" (John 17:17) -- and He is the "Word" (John 1:1-3).
Therefore the Word of God, the Truth of God, and the Law of God are all equal to the same
thingthey are equal, or equivalent, to each otherthey are all IDENTICAL!
Christ IS the "Law" of God in living form and shape. To say the Law is done away or abolished is to say CHRIST is abolished, done away! To diminish or shrink the importance of the Law is to shrink or diminish the importance of the Law-Giverthe Logos of God, Christ Himself!
One might say that Christ is the "end" of the Law (Rom.10:4), but that does not mean the Law is done away. In James 5:11 we read, "Ye have . . . seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy." Obviously, this does not mean the Lord is "done away." So the fact that Christ is the END of the Law does not mean He abolished it! It means that He is the end-result or fulfillment of the Law. Actually, He is the Beginning, the Middle, AND the End of the LawHe is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, and the SUM TOTAL of the Law! He taught complete obedience (and love of...) to the Law of God, which is to say perfect obedience to Himself, as He is the Perfect Expression of the Law of God, and we are to become like Him"for we shall be LIKE HIM, for we shall see him as he is" ...
I John 3:2. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and
it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we
shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
1 John 3:3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and
sin is lawlessness.
The true New Covenant is that we are to be writing Gods Laws in our hearts and minds daily, by His Holy Spiritincluding the Tithing Law, and the Sabbath Law, and the Holy DaysALL of Gods Perfect Law!
Are you allowing God to write His Law within our heart and mind? May God help His people to begin to wake up, and shake all of us out of their lethargy, and to REDEEM THE TIME in getting back to the faith once delivered to the saints!
It is possible that the world's preachers are sincere, of course. I cant judge their heart or sincerity. But you can be sincere and TOTALLY WRONG! Solomon wrote: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of DEATH" (Proverbs 14:12).
Paul also wrote, "Wherefore let him that standeth take heed lest he fall" (I Cor.10:12). Are you taking heed? Paul declared as well, "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?" (Heb.2:1-3).
As Paul also wrote, "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, REDEEMING THE TIME, because the days are evil" (Eph.5:15-16). The apostle Peter also wrote: "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall" (II Pet.1:10).
May God help us to take these serious admonitions to heart. Your salvation is at stake!
This finishes my presented subject for now. May all of you have a walk with God and his perfect laws. 1/16/2001 jwSee the other 6 presentations at http://www.livingcog.com/indexwheat.html
